G.O.A with Nina Smith on the LeftLion Stage
In the long anticipated summer sun, on the LeftLion stage next to Batman’s new residence at Wollaton Hall, The G.O.A got to do a surprise performance with local singer/songwriter Nina Smith.
The LeftLion stage provided such a great platform for the ever growing number of talented local artists, with sets from Rob Green (and his soulful backing singers), Ryan Keen, Miss 600 and headliner Natalie Duncan.
To close her set, Nina Smith covered REM’s Everybody Hurts and we joined her on stage to add some G.O.A flavour. Afterwards we descended to the courtyard for some good ol’ fashioned spontaneous a Capella singing.
Big thanks to Nina, her team, and to the lovely comments and support from the audience.
Naturally, we spent the rest of yesterday soaking up the music from Razorlight, Levellers and Dizzee Rascal, whilst munching on Homemade paella and chilling in the sun. There were so many people in the staple festival clothing of straw hats, shorts and wellies (just in case) but I was expecting some more true Nottingham fashionistas. Notts – you have the style, so show it off 😉
All in all, a great day for live music in Nottingham. Already looking forward to next year!
Peace out, and G.O.A love,
